what I want is to exclude certain categories to beiong email out and have newsletter with this, would make the pluggin more complete and less useless and also to be able to display ebook images and it would be a complete plugin !

Great article but it never ceases to amaze me how people make mistakes in ways which seem ironically suitable. I am a regular user of G-Lock software and I find it brilliant. As good as it is you can’t afford to switch off your brain – especially when you are doing a large email out to your members!

I believe rejecting the free email addresses actually would do more harm than good. Not everybody uses his/her own domain for email. I think it’s the technical issue involved or the security issue but somehow most new users who register domains don’t create email using their domain. Even if they do have email with their domain they don’t use it. I have had several clients which I did some web development work, Most use paid version of yahoo email and some just the free emails. So demanding only own domain emails will probably decrease the number of subscription by considerable amount…..

I’m aware that many ISPs use http://www.spamblacklist.co.uk spam blacklist checking tool to quickly see if networks are blocked. This is a useful place to check to see whether your email range is being blocked, and thus potentially proventing your email marketing getting through.

Thanks for the very useful article.

I’m encountering a problem with one ISP blocking emails generated by G-lock double opt-in manager. The problem is at the subscribing stage. I tested by sending from the same email address as the form but from outside G-lock and the email got to the Inbox. Do you have an idea as to what may be producing this?

This is a killer plugin. All of the other “highly” rated newsletter plugins available through WordPress pale in comparison. I love the attention to detail and the helpful hints/strategies you provide both inside the plugin admin and here on your blog.

A few questions:

1. How can I modify the “Subscribe” button to a) change size, b) change position, and c) change text?
2. (mentioned previously by Ben) How do I insert an image into the widget?
3. Why would my “From Name” come through as the alias of my “From Email”?

I have it configured like this:

From Name: ezGamerz
From Email: newsletter@ezgamerz.com

But in some email clients (notably Gmail) the from name is coming through as “newsletter”.

Minor stuff, really, but it would be great to get solutions to these questions.
